Dedicated to the memory of Anne Sheppard

Anne Patricia born 1 April 1942, Beckenham, South East London. Middle child of three to Bill & Eleanor and sister to John and Susan.

Joined the Army in 1963, where she met dad, Alex and 9 months later they married.

Mum left the Army when she married and went on to have us, Kimberley & Andrew and be an Army wife.  She travelled far and wide until they decided to settle in Orpington.

After losing dad suddenly, mum ventured through life and when Andrew left school took a job at the Ministry of Defence, where she was happily reunited with ex-Army friends.  Mum worked hard until a well-deserved retirement.

From there on in, she loved her reunions and up until last year attended them all.  Always a story to be told.  During this time Bill completed mum’s life and they spent the last 7 years loving, living, and laughing.

Tribute to Anne Sheppard. She is much loved and will always be remembered.

"Mum, the staple in my life
Always there even through my strife
Mum, loving, caring, loyal and kind
A beautiful person and will always be in my mind
Mum, strong, courageous and brave throughout
I stand in awe that is without doubt"

Love you always mum, Kimberley x

There aren’t enough words!  My mum was a survivor, she had grit and determination, she was courageous and brave.  Months ago she looked me in the eye, held my hand and said I’m going to fight this.  Mums desire to live and cling on to life was undimmed, her mind was so strong, stronger than I ever knew.  Always asking about her grandchildren and feeling so proud with how well they were doing, never giving up.  With her family around her, her days were made brighter by simple things, going for lunch or a walk by the sea.  Mum was straight talking, loved the dogs, had no time for cats, she loved to laugh and always had time for everyone.

What I will always treasure though is she was always there for me - I am so going to miss you x

 Andrew x
